Dyneins Dyneins were purified based on similar ideas and assays used to study  myosins and kinesins Cloning of genes that encode dyneins revealed: 1) That they were substantially different than myosins and kinesins. 2) Dyneins have a domain that is part of the AAA ATPase  superfamily.
