Chromosome Organization and Gene Regulation II H istone A cetyl T ransferases (HATs) and transcriptional activation: HATs have been identified from yeast to man The first acetyltransferase identified in yeast was Gcn5, a transcriptional co-activator. Others now identified include; CBP (CREB binding protein), PCAF (CBP-associated factor), hTAFII250, TFIIIC, SRC1 (steroid co-activator).
