Immigrants and the Transnational Social Fields The transnational social fields: The cross-border space that accommodates various types of transnationalism. o Relevant to immigrants Transnationalism: “The processes by which immigrants forge and sustain multi- stranded social relations that link together their societies of origin and settlement.” o Change and develop in cross border space, are now more active and navigation across the border into a border space, how do they do it? Activities, social processes that allow them to build social relationships, link together society of origin, and society of settlement. Different Types of Transnationalism Movement across the border Maybe once or back and forth, activity that creates connection with both societies by the physical movement of people. Financial Flow
