But this could be consid ered the same as the saving s parad ox. The more mone y they try to get from top earner s, the less mone y they have to consu me with. Most compani es out source to other countries due to the lower income and payroll taxes. So by increasin g corporat e taxes it might force at least a few compani es to start doing business state side, creating more jobs and thus producin g more taxes due to the governm ent. If it is still cheaper on production costs and labor costs to use them and just belly up and pay the taxes then all we have done is narrow the slice of pie that they keep for themselves. If it proves simply cheaper to keep jobs stateside, then the increase in employmen t here would be offset by the exponential increase in unemploym ent in foreign countries.
