How religious groups aim to eliminate women’s rights to exercise their basic human rights and make their own decisions of whether or not to carry a pregnancy to term 2 Identify any examples of bias presented by the author. If none exist, explain how you determined this. I see biases in this due to the author’s stance on abortion. From the way it sounds she is a pro choicer writing about anti-abortionists trying to take away women’s rights since they cannot get a law passed to totally eliminate abortion. 3 Identify any areas that are vague or ambiguous. If none exist, explain how you determined this. I did not find the author to have any vague points. She was very factual and on point. 4 Do you find the source credible? Explain your reasoning. I do find this source credible as she is an author of many writings including children and young adult books. Ms. Bernay subjects vary from topics depression, divorce, organ donation, and homosexuality. She is also writes under the name Emma Carlson Berne in which she has authored various books of fiction and non-fiction and specializes in work-for-hire and ghostwritten commercial fiction. Her topics include history, biography, popular culture(books on Miley Cyrus), and contemporary issues such as teen pregnancy and suicide. 5 Identify and name any rhetorical devices used by the author.
