The term red tape means a bureaucratic procedure of official forms and routines resulting in too great attention to regulations and routine which also results in delay in getting business taken care of. Red tape relates to federal bureaucracy the two are one. You have red tape in place to ensure that everything we do has a paper trail. This ensures that all government business can be tracked and accounted for. Bureaucracy is the branches of government that are not elected. The people who work at the DMV, the clerks at the court house all are part of our bureaucratic system. The Congress does have some part to blame for red tape. Congress as well as the President is responsible for passing of bills. They decide what procedures, practices and paper work need to be attached to each item or policy. They decide the amount of red tape certain things require. The benefits to federal bureaucracy are great in number. Yes it is a pain when you go to the DMV to

Unformatted text preview: renew your driver’s license and you have to bring two pieces of mail, your birth certificate and your social security card. It angers people when they have to provide all these things when they already did it one time before all these things have been seen and documented to get a license or id in the first place. This is all part of the federal bureaucracy and the red tape they make us go through. These people are put in place to follow through with the procedures and guidelines that the governments have put in place. The red tape is necessary in order for us to have a standardized traceable paper trail on all government business. I think red tape is necessary. If things are made to easy for people to do , that is when the system can be defrauded or compromised and inaccurate....
