AA 242B: Mechanical Vibrations (Spring 2010) Homework #1 - Part 2 Due April 23, 2010 This is the second part of the two-part homework focusing on developing a simplified analytical model of the longitudinal dynamics of an aircraft during the rollout phase of landing. Refer to Homework #1 for the definition of the model components and for all other information and stated assumptions . In this second part: 1. Adopt the set of kinematic variables shown in Figure 1 and explained in Table 1. 2. Adopt the force components shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2 and explained in Table 2, in addition to any gravity force. 3. Treat the following variables as “control” variables: δ , T , X gn , X gm where the subscripts n and m designate the nose and main landing gears, respec- tively. 1
