I was testing for amino acids found which make up proteins. B. The water is the control test tube. C. Test tube I - Pepsin Powder - contained the most proteins. D. Test tube III - The sugar test tube - contained the least proteins besides water. E. Pepsin has the most proteins, even more than egg whites. F. I would not, as it may be toxic to human touch. G. I feel that I learned the reaction of proteins and Biuret Reagent. Sugars Page 74: After placing the tubes in simmering water for 5 minutes, the following happened: Test Tube #1: Turned Red Test Tube #2: Turned Green Test Tube #3: Turned Orange Test Tube #4: Turned Blue A. The purpose of this exercise is to test different substances for sugar. I will be testing for the presence of monosaccharides.
