Dress Codes 1 During high school and all my past years at school I noticed that me and all my friends were focused on our attire an how we looked more then we were on our school work. We had several rules about our dress codes and what to wear but we really did not like it. Once we all tried to get together and make a little petition and get rid of some of the rules. We thought that we would make a big difference at school and they would allow us to wear what we want but we failed. After that we were threaten that we would have to wear uniforms year round if all of this did not cease and come to a halt. Back then I did not know why we had a dress code because I found it pointless and did not think it was necessary. Also I thought that it took away from our personal style. It is a myriad of things I can say I said when I used to have to follow the dress codes, because back then I did not find interest in them and really did not understand the fundamentals of a dress code. Now that I have been through the real world and matured I have understood dress codes are used for professionalism and creates a better looking environment. I will explain why dress codes are needed in the world not only in school but the work place as well. To begin with, according to the online dictionary, dress codes are an aspect of human physical appearance, and like other aspects of human physical appearance it has social significance. Dress codes are well known and have been very populated around the world. Most people see dress codes as uniforms or restrictions on personal style. After understanding the relevance of dress codes I realized that they are needed in order to have an organized and functional world. Also that with dress codes you still can endure your own personal style and still follow them all at the same time. Dress codes are not a complicated thing to follow but it can be hard to follow if you want
