Three types of contingent workers are contract workers, college interns and part-time employees.  Contract workers are employees who develop work relationships directly with an employer for a specific piece  of work or time period. They are likely to be self-employed, supply their own toold and determin their own hours.  College interns are one of the newest developments in the contingency work area. They work on full-time or  part-time assignments of short duraction in order to obtain work experience. Some are paid whiel others are  not.   Part-time employees are employees who work fewer hours then full-time employees and receive less employee  benefits, which provides savings to the employers. Prohibits employers from basing employment decisions on a person's race, color, religion, sex or national  origin. However, as court cases and regulations have grown up around this law, so has the legal theory of a
