CHE 110C CRN: 30966 Spring 2010 Ames 1 Physical Chemistry Course Outline CHE 110C: Thermodynamics and Kinetics Prerequisite: CHE 110B or permission from instructor. Course Philosophy: The objective of the course is to familiarize students with principles of thermodynamics and kinetics for quantitatively understanding chemical equilibria and rates of chemical reactions. Students in all areas of chemistry will benefit by learning how thermodynamics and kinetics pertain to their particular chemical problems of interest. To gain a broad understanding of the course material, it is necessary for students to read the assignments and work the problem sets.
