Decision Making 2 Decision Making on MBA Degree MBA is one of the popular programs among many graduate students, and it is well known that the students who have a MBA degree are quite welcomed to the various job fields. There should be a good reason for it, and I, as one of those who started MBA program, feel like I have to study that subject on decision making on MBA degree so that I could find out the direction I should seek for in the future. Based on the Results of Jungian Personality self-assessment located on the Phoenix Univ. student web site, my Jungian personality type among 16-type was resulted as INFP, which interprets that I’m reserved, creative and highly idealistic, and possible career as architect, journalist, educational consultant, missionary actor, artist, poet. At this point that I’m about to start the MBA, it is necessary for me to research the directions possible with MBA degree for my career considering the results of Jungian 16-Type personality. The purpose of this paper is to first study on the Jungian 16-Type personality, and critically to reflect on the value of the MBA in the cases of 1) making a better career with pursuing an MBA degree or 2) seeking a new career, or 3) seeking personal goal from it, and find out my future path to pursue based on my personality type, INFT. Jungian Theory of Personality What is the Jungian 16-Type Personality? Miller (2006) stated “A modern attempt to classify humans according to psychological (personality) type in order to explain behavioral differences was made by the Swiss psychiatrist, Carl Gustav Jung, who published his theory of personality types in Psychological Types in 1921.” It consists of four (4) categories: 1) preferred attitude for drawing energy: Extraversion(E) or Introversion(I), 2) preferred perception function that has two kinds of perception of ways of accessing information: Sensing(s) and Intuition(N), 3) preferred judgment function that has two kinds of judgment of ways of evaluating or making decisions: Thinking(T) and Feeling(F), 4) preferred orientation to the outer world: Judging(J) or Perceiving(P).
