Professor Lauth COM135 10/17/2007 Name of Speaker: Topic: Gangs Andrew did a good job overall in his introduction and an equally good job on his conclusion. His speech began with an attention getter that was a stat of how many people are in gangs. I thought it was a good way to get people paying attention and to show that his topic was an important thing in our society, even if it does not directly pertain to anyone in our class. He also brought to our attention that most gang members are our age, which was a good way of relating to his audience. He cited some stats and sources in his introduction, giving him credibility and previewed his main points in a clear manner in his introduction. I also liked how he told a story about his high school experience with an inner city youth from Chicago. I have no major criticisms of his introduction; I think it was done pretty well. His conclusion was also good; he summarized all of his main points.
