Each ID is worth 2.5 points.The Salem Witch Trials, began in the beginning of Spring in 1962 in Salem Village, Massachusetts. A group of girls “claimed” to be possessed by the devil and accused several local women of witchcraft. A special court convened in Salem to hear the cases and Bridget Bishop was the first witch convicted that following June. She was hung as well as nineteen others to follow. There were more than 200 men and women accused of being possessed or doing witchcraft. By September of 1962, the public opinion turned against the trials and the couts annulled the guilty verdicts and granted indemnities to the families. The Salem Witch Trials left a painful legacy for centuries to endure. The trials constitute a formative event in history, especially in the lesson of governance. An Indentured Servant
