Page 1 1.)What are the primary differences between products and services? Give illustrations of marketing offers that highlight these differences. Provide an example of hybrid offers? Product is anything that can be offered in the market for attention, acquisition, use, or consumption that might satisfy a want or need. Product is a tangible and actual thing while services are intangible. Services are activities, benefits or satisfactions that are offered in the market. The PROCTER AND GAMBLE offered its market a good quality coffee, it is a product that you can see, touch, and use. The PLDT Company offers electric services; it is an example of an offer that is intangible. A hybrid offer is a product and service offer combined to satisfy more efficiently the needs and wants of a consumer. Example of it is the Fix It Salon that offers hairstyling/ cutting services. They also offer some hair products that you can buy in the salon and use it to style your hair. 2.) Because the various classes of consumer products differ in the ways that consumer buy them, they also differ in how they are marketed. (a) Select what are typically being considered as unsought product and suggest how the marketers might convert this product in a specialty, shopping a convenience product. (b) Explain how some personal computer manufacturer have been able to convert their specialty products into broader-based shopping products. Unsought products are products that are purchased when a sudden problem must be solved or when aggressive selling is used to obtain a sale that otherwise would not take place. In general, the consumer does not think of buying these products regularly. For examples are emergency automobile repairs, cemetery plot, life insurance, encyclopedias, pre-need goods, etc. many marketers are thinking of a new ways and new offers that will make these unsought products in demand sought-after. Like the emergency automobile repair, some companies offered a monthly or bi-monthly

maintenance of the car, thus, it makes the unsought product sought after because it will not cost too much to have maintenance. IBM announced its original PC in 1983, it is one of the most institutionalized company producing computers. Computers are considered as specialty products. Different features and add-ons of computers developed nowadays that makes these PC a shopping product that you can easily buy in shopping malls. Page 2 3.)For many years there was one type of Coca Cola and one type of Tide. Now we find Coke classic, diet coke, cherry coke and several other versions of the popular soft drinks. Tide detergent comes in Ultra, liquid, unscented, and several other formulations.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
