As much as it pains me to admit it there does seem to be a rise in police brutality in the past few years. The stress modern police officers are under influences this fact greatly. When an officer is out on patrol they never know what they will come up against from one minute to the next. With guns and drugs so easy for the general public to get their hands on the person stopped for speeding may be high or armed and decide they don’t want a ticket or need to stop. Also the knowledge that any patrol officer can enter a person’s name into a computer and find out they are wanted several states away may make them want to fight to get away. All of this leads up to stress on the officers who have to deal with this on a daily bases. Also with local officers getting emotionally involved in the protection of people in their patrol area they react more strongly when someone in that area gets hurt or killed. All humans have the urge

Unfortunately whenever there is any incidence of police brutality it makes headline news across the country and this hurts the public trust in our police forces. There has been a rise in reported cases of police brutality in recent years but the cause is unclear, it could be more actually cases of police brutality or the same amount as past years just more being report recently.
