Organized religion of any kind can influence a society in many ways. Certain religions actually influence every aspect of the society’s way of life from the way they dress to what they eat. Religion can also help a society explain anything unknown. This aspect of religion helps a society to feel safe in an unknown world. When something strange happens that a group does not understand it can cause great fear within a society. When a society believes very strongly in the way they worship and who or what they worship they will fight to protect themselves from the real or perceived threat of other religions. Hitler felt the Roman Catholic Church needed to be dealt with immediately and eventually uprooted. To Hitler the Roman Catholic Church was a major threat to his thousand year plan and this could not be tolerated in his eyes.
