Of the contemporary issues examined in this course, which issue did you feel most strongly about, and why? Of all the issues we talked about I felt the most strongly about the death penalty. This issue has always been a majorly debated issue and not just among the criminal justice community. The death penalty is the harshest punishment we can hand down to criminals in our country. I firmly believe in the punishment fitting the crime and sometimes death is the only fitting punishment. Did you have a clear-cut opinion about that issue? Which issue seemed to be the most irresolvable, and what do you think the future holds for that issue? I feel the death penalty fits this part of the question to. It has been up to each state to choose if it has the death penalty on the books as a punishment. This changes due to what the public wants within each state and it also changes from year to year. It is very hard to say what the future holds for this issue in each state due to the constantly changing political environment we live in....
