English 1010 Works Cited Practice #1 – An Introduction to Language In their book which studies the effects of brain injuries and language development, Victoria Fromkin and Robert Rodman are discussing a procedure called ‘hemidecorticates’. It is a procedure which removes one or the other hemispheres of a child’s brain within their first year or later in childhood due to brain lesions, and it relationship to language development.
