Sci 275 test Q1: The term bioaccumulation means: The buildup of a persistent toxicant in an organism. An animal at the top of the food chain will more than likely have more bioaccumulation then those animals that are further down on the food chain. 6 pts. Q3: Acute toxicity means: The adverse effects that occur within a short period after high- levels of exposure to a toxicant. Chronic toxicity is an adverse effect that occurs after a long period of low-levels of exposure to a toxicant. 6 pts. Q4: The most concern about cancer is to those who smoke. When in fact, water carries more toxins in it that cause cancer than smoking. This is counterproductive because no one has any control over the pesticides ingested so even if a person does not smoke, someone can still get cancer. See your text. People are more concerned over the water. This is counterproductive because people are more likely to die of cancer from smoking than from the water. 0 pts.
