Taylor Vigfusson PSY 340 27 March 2020 ATQ3 1. An example of illogical thinking from the video showing a preoperational child’s performance on Piaget’s task was the little boy being asked questions about sizes by the woman. The boy was asked various things, such as one situation where the woman had two glasses of water that were the same size and had the same amount of water in them. Then, she took a taller glass and poured the water from one of the glasses in it, and now asked the boy which one had more water. He said the taller glass had more water in it, because to him it looked like more because the glass was skinnier. This shows a failure to think logically in early childhood because the boy was evaluating which had more by appearance, not by logically thinking that they both had the same amount as when they started. 2.
