Journal Entry of a Subordinate Group Member October 4, 2009 Ah, it is nice to finally have a chance to put my pen to paper once more. I have always enjoyed writing in you, my dear old friend. Lately, times have been hard and there hasn’t been much time for writing. However, most of the excitement has dwindled down to whispers, so here I am. I was just thinking today about how happy my parents would be to see the world we live in today. My parents, Rosa and Jose Gonzales, were such warm people. They were both born in Mexico, Their parents, my grandparents, had been close friends through their upbringing. You could almost say that my parents had an arranged marriage since my grandparents wanted nothing more than the two of them to grow together and get married. However, nothing was arranged and their eventual marriage was a simple choice between them. My mother used to tell me how beautiful it was to live in Mexico. I, myself, have never lived there. My grandparents fell ill before I was born and my parents decided that the only way for them to get the medical attention they needed was for my
