As part of the paper the author quoted a statement "health care will consume all of GDP". For their papers I want more than just a mix and match of pundits opinions. I want you to synthesis what you find and come up with your own coherent views. You need to evaluate different opinions, determine whether they make sense and come up with your own analysis. Ought to have a schedule for doing the project, a division of labors. (5-10 minutes) Public Choice - Ch 5 (40-50 minutes) Need to cover first part of the chapter--I won't go over explicitly. Open with example of median voter theorem -- 10 people, 4 of whom would choose the lowest level of expenditures, 3 of whom would choose the middle, and 3 of whom would choose the highest. With single peaked preferences, can rank preferences for lowest and highest. Will come up with middle as the winner. (10 -15 minutes) logrolling--numerical examples from Rosen (5 minutes) Arrow's impossibility theorem (5 minutes) No dictator
