Sender   channel   receiver  Types of Communication     o Oral Communication How well do you comprehend what’s being said.  Most accurate because messages can be clarified through dialogue.  o Written Communication Most used in work environment  o Non-verbal Communication You must match your verbal and non-verbal communication  When they don’t go together it’s a signal  You need to pay very close attention You can take non-verbal and verbal and use it to your advantage A lot of business is won and lost with non-verbal  Non-verbal changes things Communication Networks (patterns of relationships)     o (need to know the diff. bet these too) Central  When someone who speaks up ppl then goes back to that person and  they become the leader. Everything goes through one person Flow through central person Common to information overload

Types: Wheel Chain “Y” Decentralized  A business will work better if they have a completely decentralized  communication There is a flow (hierarchy) You’ll loose time if you have to always come back to one person Combination of the two makes it the best  o Still have hierarchy but everyone knows everything Each member has an equal opp to participate Greater satisfaction and produce highest ratings in complex situations Better for business because ppl are more invested  Types: Circle
