Therese Nguyen Enthalpy of Neutralization of Phosphoric Acid July 14, 2010 Abstract The enthalpy of neutralization of phosphoric acid was determined by measuring the temperature change of the reaction between sodium hydroxide and phosphoric acid. The experimental value of the enthalpy of neutralization of phosphoric acid was -188.07 kJ/mol. The percent error rate was 20%. Data Table 1 summarizes the temperatures and the temperature changes as a result of the reaction. Figure 1 details the graph of the three trials. Table 1.
