One GOVT 380-B01 Midterm Essay Exam Discuss the potential conflict between biblical Christian ethics and Intelligence Intelligence is defined as the product resulting from the collection, processing, integration, evaluation, analysis, and interpretation of information concerning foreign nations, hostile or potentially hostile forces, or areas of actual operations that can put in danger our country. However, the conflict between biblical Christian ethics and intelligence is in how such information is collected. For example, Intelligence agents often engage in activities that Christians would consider immoral. Lying about one’s identity and activities as well as invading others’ privacy to collect information violates two of the Ten Commandments. Some of the methods used to obtain the information are always criticized by Christians whether the information was obtained through torture, spying or how far will the agent go to achieve the mission.
