Unformatted text preview: The best kind of education encourages students to question authority Education can be explained in many different ways. It could be seen as learning through the school system, life in general, and even religious practices. Authority can be seen as teachers, parents, pastors etc. An effective education is one that forces a person to actively become involved with the topic being discussed. This allows a person to become more aware of the topic. This type of process will also allow a person to remember the information for a longer time. In order for this active learning to occur, one must question authority. For instance, in many literature classes, students are given interpretations of poems and famous essays. Students often question a teachers interpretation of these works of literature because they may disagree with the presented interpretation. This could allow the teacher to see a different viewpoint of the writing leading to a better education.
