This is an essay from my junior year in high school. We were instructed to write a personal essay on anything. As a result of having such an open topic, my thoughts became jumbled toward the end of the essay. This was a problem that I continued to have when I entered English 1102 this semester. Now, at the end of the semester, I have eliminated this problem from my writing. April Hobbs Mr. Westafer IB English 1 st Period A Tough Situation: Not So Tough Anymore I was about five years old when I began to encounter different types of people and their amazingly different personalities. From black to white and short to tall, I began to analyze the features of different people. As I began to analyze people, so was everyone else. Except I noticed that they were analyzing me, up and down, inside and out. I never realized how hurtful people can be with just words until I was being teased on an issue that was very sensitive to me. I was in kindergarten, five years old, and still peeing in the bed. At that point in my life, I was supposed to have grown out of this stage of development, yet the end of “peeing in the bed” seemed so far away.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
