Leader as a Visionary Have to revolutionary every part of the firm (before problems come) Most firms look at change as adaptation center for effective org.-2 5 yrs at marshall – develop ways of companies transform themselves no companies can do transformational really well Action research with organizations- Center for effective org- work with companies, o Help org learn to improve itself- like OD, rather than just consulting o generate new knowledge that can be applied to other org (research)- tons of books, articles, that is one of thins marshall is known for Research Scientists and Faculty Members- research types and ppl that work with companies Types of Projects o Strategic change o Designing high-performing org.’s o Team-based org’s o New reward and selection practices o Org. learning Funded by corporate ppl- who get research info early, Charge by the project (force firms to let Marshall publish data- wont work with unless can publish) 25 yrs ago when started (bureaucratic companies) o Looked at change as problem solving - brign in experts come fix and than the problem is gone This was traditional method of change (still used by a lot of firms)
