The name of God could not be spoken because the idea of the divine being II. Narrative of Moses Greek name meaning departure or going out. Part of the story that has captured imagination of the world is the story of the narrative of a slave people delivered from bondage and their journey through the wilderness to a promised land. Key phrase: “Let my people go!” the voice of Yahweh speaking to the slaves and on behalf of them.
