Identifying Fallacies 2. Ad Hominem - In question number #2 the North State Record clearly strikes Andrea Keene’s view from the beginning. This happens when they take her work and replace it to an expression without properly referencing to her work. Straw Man - Also in question #2 the North State Record attempts to stray from the subject by adding their own thoughts in the form of questions and using the questions to harm her reputation. 3. Poisoning the well – To Question number #3 the author cites problems with the logic of the person who wrote the letter. Misplacing Burden of Proof- Also in Question #3 the person who wrote the letter tries to change the claim of being a widow with her own views of this matter. 5. Ad hominem – In Question number #5 the author acts as if the joggers, and bicyclists are the reason the park closed, and as if they have any say in the matter. The author is also ironic by attacking them with personal stuff. Straw Man- Also in Question #5 the author says that it is the joggers and bicycles
