Use the computer program, Excel, to overlay multiple visible spectra. 1. Open an Excel worksheet. 2. Enter the x-values (wavelengths) in Column A. 3. Enter the y-values (Absorbance) in Column B (for blue), Column C (for red) and Column D (for yellow). 4. Highlight all the x- and y-values. 5. Choose the Chart Wizard (blue, yellow and red bars icon) function on the top tool bar. 6. Choose X Y (Scatter) under “Chart type” and “Scatter with data points connected by smoothed lines” under “Chart sub-type. 7. Click “Next”. 8. Click on the “Series” tab. 9. Under the heading “Series” ensure that “Series1” is highlighted. Notice that the “X Values” box contains . ..A. ., and the “Y Values” box contains . ..B. .. 10. In the “Name” box enter “Blue” 11. Under the heading “Series” highlight “Series2”. Notice that the “X Values” box contains . ..A. .. and the “Y Values” box contains . ..C. .. 12. In the “Name” box enter “Red”.
