HEALTH DECISIONS AND THE BIOPSYCHOSOCIAL MODEL 2 Health Decisions and the Biopsychosocial Model Biological factors have influenced me because both of my parents suffer from type 2 diabetes. Because they both have this condition, I am at high risk of developing it myself. During my pregnancies I developed gestational diabetes and was put on diabetic medications to control it as well as a diabetic diet. Because of the gestational diabetes, I am at a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes sometime in my life; therefore I now live on a diabetic diet to help prevent my sugar levels from becoming out of control. Psychological factors have influenced me in the past to make a decision to terminate a pregnancy during my second trimester. My baby was diagnosed with a condition called Potter’s Syndrome and there was absolutely no chance of survival outside of the womb. I was given the
