For exams and quizzes, there are no make-ups, exceptions, alternate times, or extra credit. Students with conflicts with the midterm dates should switch to another 1C section. The first lecture meeting is Monday, March 29, 2010, 11:10 a.m. - 12:00 p.m, INTN 1020 In the sections that follow: A. CLASS GENERAL INFORMATION AND PREREQUISITES B. REVIEW SUGGESTIONS FOR EXAMS H. CHEATING A. CLASS GENERAL INFORMATION AND PREREQUISITES PROFESSOR: Yadong Yin, Department of Chemistry TEACHING ASSISTANTS: Olivia Alley, Kevin Weber, David Medina DESCRIPTION: Chemistry 1C is the third quarter of General Chemistry. Topics include chemical equilibrium including acid-base and ionic equilibria, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, transition elements and coordination compounds. There are three 50-minute lecture meetings (Yin) plus a one hour discussion meeting (Discussion TAs) each week. PREREQUISITES: grades of “C-” or better in CHEM 001B and CHEM 01LB or grades of “C-” or better in CHEM 01HB and CHEM 01HLB; concurrent enrollment in CHEM 01LC or a grade of “C-” or better in CHEM 01LC or CHEM 01HLC. CLASSROOM : CHASS Interdisciplinary Studies Lecture Hall 1020 (INTN 1020) (For a map, please see http://classrooms.ucr.edu) CLASS TIME : MWF 11:10 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. DISCUSSION : one hour per week. The discussion sections will include problem solving, some group work, and quizzes. There are separate iLearn websites for the lecture section and for each discussion section. You must attend your first discussion section the week of March 29 or you will be dropped from discussion and lecture (1C) and lab (1LC). For 1C Lecture Section 001 the Discussion Section numbers are 002 through 013 (twelve Discussion Sections).
