Unformatted text preview: nalysis of the CATIA algorithms used during the preliminary data models registration phase. 156 M. Germani and F. Mandorli At the present stage of the work we have focused our attention on orientation tolerances and we have identified different strategies to define the planar virtual datum. More experiments are required to identify the best strategy and to extend the set of procedures to define the datum and to compute the tolerance values in case of other GT types. This will also include experiments to eventually find a cloud sampling strategy before computing the datum plane.
