Measured Part Data The hybrid model was also used to model the geometric covariance from a set of 6 sheet-metal parts for which the surface variation was obtained using a coordinate measure machine (CMM) and characterized using the three variation descriptors. The covariance was calculated directly from the CMM data and was also modeled using the hybrid method.
