Then the clearance domain can be displayed in 3D figure 4. The method used here consists in testing the interference between balls and rings by moving the inner ring against the outer one. This program [Samper et al. 2001] was written in the Mathematica software. It is based on the Hertz Theory of Contact and the kinematics model of the parameterized ball bearing. The elastic clearance domain in figure 4 is defined for the static limit (4200 MPa).
