Unformatted text preview: ntribute to the generation of the parameters of the MMP (Model of the Manufactured Part) whose concept was introduced in [Villeneuve et al., 2004]. More precisely, the way to find the positioning parameters of a workpiece in a set-up is detailed. A positioning function is introduced in order to make the resolution more generic. It allows to consider all the cases existing for a workpiece/part-holder assembly, overconstrained or isostatic, with floating or slipping contacts. The set of hierarchically arranged functions and constraints obtained contributes to describe the MMP and can be used in every case of tolerances analysis. This method can also be applied to the resolution of the problem of assembly between the part to be controlled and a virtual control gauge. A textual formulation of the workpiece positioning is described represented by a table. This formulation provide a precise description of the assembly operation and give all the information necessary to perform the analysis step without recompile a simulation one.
