Unformatted text preview: Requirement imposed. Finally, this general synthesis method can be used in both a deterministic (WC) and easily adapted to statistical context. This is the subject of current developments. In statistical approach, contribution’s functional element (equation (4)) is replaced by statistical contribution using the theory of Root-SumSquares in statistical. In the example that was presented, changes in the various intervals were manually specified and the model was run for each new set of values. The changes in the various tolerance values were based on the relative contribution of each Functional Element. Cost and the optimal tolerance values for the assembly were not taken into consideration. This is the subject of current developments. The objective is to have a model that can perform the search for optimal values automatically using some cost tolerance function proposed in the literature and the contribution percentage of each FE to the total FR in the assembly. 104 REFERENCES W.
