This UR parameterized clearance domain can then be used in a Computer Aided Tolerancing software (mock up in [Fukuda et al.2003]) in order to take into account the use of the system. As the domain concept is not a geometric object and the zone concept is easy to manage for a designer we propose to show on 3D the equivalent zone to each domain. In figure 5, the computed domain is shown in 2D (dots) and is fitted (lines). This approximate domain can be shown in the drawing like a plain bearing with a jr radial clearance equal to TyMAX and a la length equal to TyMAX/RzMAX . Then, in a tolerancing analysis, the designer can substitute a ball bearing to a parameterised plain bearing where Jr and la are calculated by a given UR and a corresponding domain.
