Carbohydrates Lab Report Rubric   S/S 10 PLEASE NOTE -- THE DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE LAB MANUAL (pgs 117-119)  MUST BE FOLLOWED AS WELL!! Points will be given for:  Introduction  1 pg –  __/8 points total: Subject of overall report clearly stated in FIRST sentence __/1 point  Introduction should include how the experiments work and include a discussion of: Why carbohydrates are important, how carbohydrates are different from other biomolecules (lipids,  amino acids and nucleic acids), what monosaccharides, disaccharides, and polysaccharides are (with  examples of each), what branched versus unbranched means (with examples).  __/7 points  Materials and Methods  1/4 pg - ___/2 points total  Name the three experiments and the different parts of each. What was the purpose of each  experiment? Cite the lab manual and specific exercise. Include deviations from the lab manual here. Results   3/4 pg -___/4 points total:  Report data in complete sentences __/1 point
