PSY 310, Section 06 Reviewing an Article The following steps will facilitate reviewing articles and writing your paper. Area to look What you should look for in that section Reference information List the complete citation in APA format – facilitates completing the reference section of your paper. Introduction Why did the researchers conduct this experiment? What theory does this research seek to support? Method What were the IV and DV? How were they operationalized? Is it a correlational or experimental study? Use the following sections to describe how the project was conducted. Participants Describe the participants who were tested. List specifics like species (e.g. mice, humans), number, age and sex. Measures/Apparatus Describe equipment or measures that were used. Note any deviations from the standard measures/apparatus, as well as unusual features. Procedure How did they conduct the study? Results
