This is a video of Ludwig Van Beethoven’s 9 th Symphony. Since Adolf Hitler shakes the hand of the orchestra conductor at the end of the clip, one can assume that this piece was performed during Nazi Germany, when Hitler had a lot of power. The 9 th Symphony was one of Beethoven’s most celebrated pieces, so it makes sense that Hitler would want it to be performed for him and show the world Germany is the best country in the world, since the conductor and Beethoven himself were also German. This is a video from Porgy and Bess, a George Gershwin opera. This particular clip shows Porgy and Bess’s love confessions to each other. This opera was not quite accepted in the United States as a “valid” opera until the Houston Grand Opera performed it in 1976, finally establishing it as a legitimate opera with its beautiful songs like the one in the clip “Bess, You Is My Woman Now.” One reason that the opera
