Unformatted text preview: As far as I can remember, this was a completely ordinary day. There was nothing special about it – not too hot or too cold, no terrorist attacks in the newspaper, no new episodes of The Office on TV. But for some reason, this is the day that pops into my mind when I think about him. The image of him sitting on my bed, drinking tea, studying for our chemistry exam the following week. He had always been a good student, and as a result of using him as motivation, I soon became a good student as well. Looking back, it comes as no surprise that we (read: he) chose to use the daylight hours to be good students together, even if I didn’t take in any of the material from the notes I was looking over. I remember drinking the tea out of my own mug, recognizing that the steaming liquid was that perfect temperature just before it burns your tongue. And yet I remember that I didn’t taste it at all, nor did I taste the cookies we had been munching on for the previous half hour. I wasn’t sick or anything, I was just too busy focusing cookies we had been munching on for the previous half hour....
