PSY/220 Fostering Hope 3 Being able to foster hope seems to be a very important part of an individual’s well-being. Identifying goals, visualizing success and learning optimism as well as creating time lines to accomplish goals are an important part of fostering hope. Setting short and long term goals make it possible to accomplish things that bring happiness and positive feelings or a sense of accomplishment. (Bolt 2004) I write down my weekly and monthly goals every month. I have many goals I wish to achieve. I believe that writing down and identifying my goals has helped me accomplish my goals. It has also given me something that I can look back on and be proud of. I write down everything from strengthening my relationship with my family to going to the gym or paying my credit debt off. Every week I cross off all of my goals that I have accomplished and I write a star next to it. This
