Tsien) The article “Building a brainier mouse” was written by Joe Z Tsien, Ph.D. cognitive and system neurobiologist. According to Tsien, their research have examined “what happens in the brain during learning and what memories are made of” by genetically built mouse. He introduced Donald O. Hebb’s learning rule that a memory is constructed where neurotransmitters flows between two synapse during simultaneous activation of two connected neurons. In addition, the article illustrated the discovery of the University of Oslo, which is long term potentiation (LTP) of hippocampus. Further study by Mark F. Bear of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at Brown University and other scientists also included with explanation of long term depression (LTD).
