Sojung Suk N102 Dr. Lewis 7/31/2009 The Community Field observation I used to have preconception about homeless people as drug abused, dirty, lonely, mentally disoriented, not able to dwell in structured society. The many homeless peoples who I met in rescue union mission are just like my neighbors. They are very appreciative of the nursing staff and polite. I met tens of single moms who have more than two children and live in the shelter and send their children to school. I have never realized there are so many homeless women and children in Los Angeles area and that is totally opposite to my perception about homeless. They are just common people who I meet every day. The UCLA School of nursing health center is located on the second floor and it is a nurse managed clinic even though we met MD taking care of patient similarly as nurse. The clinic is very small compared to the organization itself but provide holistic service. I thought the clinic would provide only urgent or emergency service
