Unformatted text preview: (HRT)is a treatment type program that provides women with, or replaces, hormones that the ovaries have stopped producing. The ovaries make estrogen and progesterone as part of the menstrual cycle. The ovaries also produce androgens.. Hormone levels usually start to change during peri menopause. During peri-menopause, most women begin to have symptoms that can include hot flashes, vaginal dryness, irregular periods, and insomnia. The reason for the symptoms are usually fluctuating and diminishing hormone levels. The hormone changes that women go through are due to the ovaries aging which are losing their ability to produce eggs and hormones. Women may have different estrogen levels during their monthly cycles due to the fact that the ovaries keep trying to produce eggs. There will be cycles where no ovulation occurs (This is referred to as anovulatory cycles) During this trying to produce eggs....
