To travel through the body alcohol has to break itself down and what better way than to dilute itself within the body? There are vital organs that are important to the body’s function that contain large amounts of water and require a large supply of blood, like the brain, which is sorely effected by alcohol. Based on the fact that alcohol dilutes itself in the body by way of the water volume it does bring down the actual content of the alcohol that travels through the blood stream. I would like to point out the difference that occurs between male and females with regard to the intake of alcohol. Based on the fact that men have more muscle tissue and smaller amounts of fat within the body than women they are able to consume as much alcohol if not more as women and this is due to the fact that more times than not men have more water volume within the body due to the additional muscle mass which again has more water. Thus causing men to be less apt to react as adversely to the alcohol’s affects as women. Dehydration
