Catalog Copy CE13. Computer Systems and C Programming. An introductory programming course for engineering majors where students learn C programming, programming methodologies, embedded programming basics and documentation. Introduces students to compilers, editors, and debuggers and they are expected to write medium-sized programs. Topics include, but are not limited to, functions, conditionals and loop control structures, data structures, static and dynamic memory manipulations, file input and output, pointers and linked lists, basic electronics and embedded principles and text processing. Prior experience with Unix helpful, and some prior programming experience strongly recommended (e.g. course CE12). Explanation of prerequisites CMPE 13 is a freshmen-level introductory programming course that requires some mathematical sophistication and familiarity with computer systems. Required Skills to pass the course 1. Basic use of Unix: cd, pwd, ls, vi, emacs, etc. 2.
